Cheltenham School of Fine Art (CFA) is part of Cheltenham Art School Limited. CFA was set up by Rory Morrell over 10 years ago as The Cheltenham School of Painting & Drawing, and the school has remained based in the same mews stables premises in Lansdown in central Cheltenham.
Cheltenham Art School has a broader based interest in Arts and Crafts, building on an historic tradition in the Cotswolds, specialising in hand build studio ceramics as well as fine art painting and drawing. Vivien Ayres is the founding director of Cheltenham Art School and the principal of Cheltenham School of Fine Art since April 2011.
In the mews stables and garages behind the big regency terraces of the Lansdown area of Cheltenham, there are a number of workshops, studios and galleries. The Crescent Arts Network brings together these diverse interests into a community of working artists of which the CFA is a part.
