
Still Life to Abstraction Summer School, Tue-Thur 16th August, 10-4pm
Cézanne reintroduced the genre of still life painting to France, and used it to start breaking down objects into their basic shapes and colors. It was the first step toward greater abstractions to come from Gauguin, Van Gogh and Matisse
Discover your talents in this 3 day workshop which will be an exciting opportunity to explore the abstract using a diverse range of materials and techniques.
The course will be suitable for all levels of ability and will include study of various artists approach to this genre as well as practical taught sessions

The workshop will be run from 10-4pm.

The class will be held in the main studio of Cheltenham School of Fine Art on the first floor of Carmargue House, 32 Wellington Lane, Cheltenham GL52 2AG.
What you need to bring to the studio: Please bring your mask so you can wear it when necessary, your own bottle of water and your lunch with you or step out to the cafe in Pittville Park to grab a snack.
We also recommended that you bring your notebook / sketchbook and pencils with you.
There is free 4 hour parking around the nearby Pittville Park or NCP parking at North Place.
