Thursday PM - Portrait Class, Autumn Term 1:15 - 4
This course will teach how to create a portrait from start to finish.
We will cover value, composition and edges, colour and mixing skin tones, likeness, drawing and use of different limited palettes.
This class is suitable for beginners and advanced as we work in small groups so there is lots of individual attention. The same models are used for 2-3 weeks, often linking models to famous portraits, giving students time to do in-depth sketches using medium of their own choice.
Beginners will start with charcoal and move on to pastels and other mediums as they progress.
Each week there will be demonstrations of the chosen topic or technique followed by individual work with feedback and one-to-one instruction.
A ten week term starting on the 15th September with a two week half term w/c 24th & 31st October.
The class will be held in the main studio of Cheltenham School of Fine Art on the first floor of Carmargue House, 32 Wellington Lane, Cheltenham GL52 2AG. There is free 4 hour parking around the nearby Pittville Park or NCP parking at North Place
